Chi Alpha 2016

Chi Alpha is a Christian ministry that can be found on over 300 college and university campuses. We are so blessed to have the Missouri State branch of Chi Alpha come spend a week with us every summer. Chi Alpha is always full of energy and ready for a week of hard work. Here are some of the highlights of our week together:

Zika Flyers-

The team handed out flyers about the Zika virus and ways to prevent it. We first visited our own neighborhood, passing out flyers and praying with families. It was a sweet time of fellowship and relationship-building. Later in the week, we visited the refugee area and passed out more flyers. We were able to spend time visiting and getting to know this community while providing valuable information.

T-shirts and VBS-

One morning, the team did an amazing Vacation Bible School around the story of Joseph. They followed up the skit and lesson with a tie-dying t-shirts for every child in attendance. All of the children had a blast and they loved receiving their shirts the next day.

Girls‘ Home Guests-

This week, three of the girls from the Girls Home participated in a mini-internship with the team. They stayed at the mission home and went to every activity for three and a half days. They loved getting to know the group and getting an inside view of the ministry.

Gardening and Compost Bins-

The team joined in with the “Seeds of Change” gardening project by building two compost bins. They filled them up and we hope to have a great fertilizer for the garden soon.

Thank you for an amazing week of service!
