"Do you know for sure if you were to die today that you would go to Heaven?"

You can have the peace and hope that comes from knowing, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you will go to Heaven.

First of all...

1. YOU MUST REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.
The Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

We are all sinners. No one has lived a perfect life.  We have all broken God’s law and are guilty before God.

2. YOU MUST REALIZE THAT THERE IS A PRICE ON SIN AND THAT PRICE IS DEATH.

"For the wages (the payment) of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23a)

This means that if we die without our sins being forgiven, we must be separated from God forever in Hell. We need someone to save us from our sins. This is why God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. YOU MUST REALIZE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

“But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)

The Son of God, The Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, who has never sinned, shed His blood and died for us on the cross. He suffered in our place. He paid for all of our sins.

Jesus died, and was buried.  After three days, He arose from the dead. The Bible teaches that He will come again, one day, to judge the world.  

4. YOU MUST REPENT AND TRUST JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOUR.

"Believe on (trust in) the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved..." (Acts 16:31a)

Everlasting life in Heaven is a free gift. No good works, church, baptism, or reformation can save you.

The way to be saved is to repent of your sin and to simply believe that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and was resurrected from the dead, and to trust in Him alone for salvation.  To repent of sin means that you are making a decision either to follow sin or to receive Christ.  To receive Christ, you must call upon Him and ask Him to save you (Romans 10:9-13).

If you would like to trust Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, call upon Him.  You could call upon the Lord in a simple prayer like this:

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I do not deserve to go to Heaven. I believe that You died for me on the cross and that you arose again from the dead.  The best I know how, I here and now trust You as my Saviour.  Please forgive me of my sins and save me.  I am placing my faith in You, and You alone.  Thank You for saving me, and for giving me a home in Heaven. Amen."
